Will cats have feelings for people after living with people for a long time?
The answer is definitely “YES”! Cats will have feelings for their owners if they live together for a long time.
However, different types of cats have different personalities, and this feeling may vary. In addition, if cats are not raised but adopted as stray cats, they will not have much feelings for people.
I have kept cats in my family since I was very young, and I can’t remember how many cats I have kept for decades. I personally buried a few cats in the flower pond in front of the door, and they died at home. Because very few cats die at home, I only buried a few cats.
To sum up, every cat I have raised has a completely different personality, including diet and other various living habits, his own personality, and the degree of intimacy with the owner. This is very different from other animals.
For example, I once raised a litter of 2 kittens that others threw at my door. One of them has never looked at me directly since I took it home, and would only come to me when he is hungry.
The other one can’t be close to me, and it’s a natural habit that I never train any animals, but this cat will jump on my shoulder every time he saw me, and then no matter where I go, he will always stay on my shoulders. This is a cat I buried myself. The other one never looked at me straight, and ran away a little bit older and wandered away.
Since I was a child, I have kept cats in a freestyle, unlike in many cities, I do not walk my cats with ropes. They are all free to come and go. The longest cat should be almost ten years. Most cats are lost after a year. Every cat will have the first time out to explore when he grows up. Cats got lost mostly at this stage, especially in winter. The biggest headache is in winter, when the cat is older, he has to go out to play every day, and I’ll wait for him to come home at night. When you meet a silly one, you don’t know when it will come back, maybe it will come back very early, maybe it will come back in the middle of the night. I have also raised a very smart one, just one, and go home on time at 10 o’clock every day. I never saw him before 9:50, as long as I open the door after 10 o’clock, he must be squatting at the door waiting for you to open the door.
Based on so many years of experience, I can clearly say that it is difficult for me to believe that cats have special emotions for people, especially the kind of dogs to people. Of course, I have encountered them, but for decades, I only I’ve only met one or two, just one or two, and they definitely can’t reach the kind of feelings dogs have for people. So if you come across a cat that you think has feelings for you, then you must have won the lottery. It’s really rare, very rare.
But there is a question. Cat owners, or those who like cats, don’t ask for any emotional rewards for raising cats. Cats are not dogs. Cats are very mysterious and cute. Especially the kittens, the cat is a very spiritual and attractive pet among pets. You keep it because you like this animal, not because you have to feel that it should have feelings for you.
