I am a pet lover, the family has three fur-babies, a cat, a golden retriever and a schnauzer.
One evening we went out for a walk after dinner as usual, and not far away we saw a woman tethering an ginger dog to a tree, and at first we thought she just had a temporary problem. But then we noticed that she got on the tram and left as fast as she could, not looking back even though the dog was barking.
We tried to get her to stop but couldn’t, so we realized that she was abandoning the dog. We realized that she was going to abandon the dog and tied it to a tree on the side of the road so that it wouldn’t follow her.
This is a mother dog, should have just given birth to puppies not long ago, she has been barking, very alert to strangers we were not able to approach, I was wondering if her children were also abandoned in the vicinity.
We looked around, and sure enough, we found two puppies in a roadside alcove.
I don’t know if they were scared or what, but they were huddled together very quietly and looked like they should have been about a month old. It was a bit cold at night, so we went home to get some wool blankets and cardboard to build a temporary shelter for them, and we laid hay and leaves on the cardboard to prevent them from being found by other unfriendly people or animals. We had just finished the above when we suddenly saw her mother dashing over to us, and it turned out that the rope was broken by her chewing. We had no choice but to leave for the time being and plan to come back in the morning to figure out what to do.
The next day early in the morning we took food to the place where the little puppies were found yesterday, and their family was still there. The mother dog is very alert to us at first very aggressive, not allowed to approach, we threw food far away to her, she was very hungry to eat a lot, over a while to confirm that we are not malicious before slowly relaxed vigilance. We slowly approach the puppies, only to clearly see the two little guys, a black, a cream white, so cute little puppies. We used a shovel to cut up the canned meat, the two little guys gobbled it up, they must be too hungry, ate a lot.
As the mother dog grew to trust us, we decided to build them a larger, safer den. We found a more secluded place, further away from the road, and to prevent the puppies from running around, we found a disused dry well about 40 cm deep with a partly broken cover to cover it. The mother dog was very happy with the new den and stopped being mean to us, allowing us to pet her.
But this was only a temporary place to stay and we needed to find safer housing for them. Thankfully, before it rained we reached an agreement with an aunt in the neighborhood who runs a scrap yard and was willing to help us look after the three dogs temporarily. We will often send food over until we can find a suitable adoptive home for the puppies.
Ten days later we found a suitable adopter who was willing to adopt the little cream-colored puppy and promised to take good care of him. After a few more days, the little black dog and his mother were also adopted. The adopter, whose family dog had just passed away due to old age, also promised to treat the mother and son well. We also took her to the vet for spay/neuter surgery before the adoption, so, good luck to them🙏🐶😘😘!
